Running app names, identifiers, and iconsBuild the app list, show cards, match pinned apps, and activate your choice.Locally on your Mac. Folder and pin choices save app identifiers in preferences.

Available window titles, bounds, and display informationLabel previews, show their location, and match window-title searches after capture access is available. In memory on your Mac.
Window preview imagesShow still previews of app windows with your Screen Recording permission. In memory on your Mac, including a small recent-preview cache. They are not written to a screenshot history or uploaded.
Search textFilter app names and available window titles while the switcher is open.In memory. The query is cleared when the switcher closes.
Folders, numbered pins, exclusions, and app preferencesKeep your organization and shortcut choices between launches.Locally in this app’s sandbox preferences container.

TabSwitcher does not send these app names, window titles, search queries, settings, or preview images to Taskcend or another server. It does not save audio, a continuous screen recording, or a screenshot history.

You control preview permission

Screen Recording permission is optional. macOS controls the grant, and TabSwitcher can switch apps using their identities and icons without it. With permission, ScreenCaptureKit provides window information and still images for previews.

Change the permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording (Screen Recording on some macOS versions). TabSwitcher’s Setup page has a Recheck access action after you change access. The app does not capture microphone or system audio.

No further preview captures are requested after the switcher closes. A small cache may remain in memory for later browsing; the app clears preview data when it detects capture access has been denied. Quitting the app ends its in-memory session.

The Store edition does not request Accessibility or Input Monitoring access. Specific global shortcuts are registered with macOS; it does not monitor the keyboard stream in other apps. A local AppKit monitor handles navigation and search commands while TabSwitcher itself is active.
